On the 8th of February 2017 customers and volunteers celebrated the first full year of Ratby library being a Community Managed Library and Café. A steady stream of customers enjoyed free tea and coffee throughout the course of the day.
The event was attended by County Councillor Ozzy O’Shea and his Wife, Borough Councillor Chris Boothby, the Chair and Clerk to the Parish Council Merle Joyce and Linda Fogg. Councillor O’Shea celebrated the event with a speech, congratulating the Trustees and Volunteers for their efforts over the past 12 months that is providing the village with not just the library, but also a fine café and space for community activity and meetings six days a week. Councillor O’Shea also pledged his continuing support for the future of Ratby Community Library.
Details of a number of organisations providing leisure activities in Ratby were displayed to recruit new members. Not all organisations were represented but the intention is to keep the records available on the Library Website.
